Prescription Opioids

Prescription Opioids are pain relievers including codeine, fentanyl, Vicodin, hydromorphone, morphine, oxycodone, and Oxymorphone.

They are used recreationally to produce a sense of euphoria and to lesson pain. Low back pain is one of the most occurring problems that pushes people to use prescription opioids.

Effects:

  • Drowsiness
  • Constipation
  • Depressed respiration
  • Hypoxia (not enough oxygen reaching the tissues), causes brain damage
