Social & Emotional Wellness at HPW:
Our goal is to build a campus culture where healthy relationships thrive and supportive communities improve well-being and college success.
We do this by:
- Increasing access and opportunities for our student communities to practice social connectedness, inclusion, and belonging
- Enhancing social and emotional skills of our student communities for interpersonal, academic, mental, and professional well-being
- Enhancing the ability of our staff and faculty communities to model healthy relationships skills that strengthen their capacity to create supportive environments
What is Social Wellness?
Social Wellness involves having healthy relationships with friends, family, and the community, and having an interest in and concern for the needs of others and humankind.
What is Emotional Wellness?
Emotional wellness is the ability to express feelings, adjust to emotional challenges, cope with life’s stressors, and enjoy life. It includes knowing our strengths as well as what we want to get better at and living and working on our own but letting others help us from time to time.
